The Christmas Cake

Inspired by the opulence and festivity of the Christmas smorgasbord.

On 14 December 2005, the exhibition "Towers, temples and other fantasy architecture" was inaugurated at the County Museum of Gävleborg. Since then, the jig sawn works of art have been packed away but not forgotten.
At the end of 2003, the first decorated constructions emerged, with names such as; Winter horses, The Spiral Staircase and The Christmas Cake. The finished results were somewhat modestly called "Sågverk" and is a wordplay meaning sawmill in Swedish and refers to the sluggish jig saw work which also gives plenty of time to dream and fantasize. The constructions have clear features of architecture, sometimes reminiscent of carousels or toys from the past. Gradually the collection grew – imaginative, colourful and elegant. We hope you like them, so we will have the opportunity to unpack more eventually.

The jig saw work is made of colour-printed plywood and are delivered as a kit with an easy assembly instruction.
